Diego Yllanes, convicted murderer of Nagore Laffage, appeared among the team of professionals at a clinic as a psychiatrist. The center has already removed the image of Yllanes.
Social networks have echoed a controversy that in a matter of hours has generated a wave of protests and outrage. The controversy has arisen as a result of a screen capture of the team of professionals of a clinic, among which appeared Diego Yllanes Vizcay, assassin confessed and condemned (ratified by the Supreme Court) of the young woman from Irun (Gipuzkoa) Nagore Laffage, in the sanfermines of 2008.
Yllanes appeared as hired at the clinic, which has centers in Madrid and Seville, to perform work as a psychiatrist.
After running the news like gunpowder on Twitter and Facebook, the clinic has removed the Yllanes photograph from the web and its director has published a message in which he explains that “Diego Yllanes Vizcay does NOT take care of patients, he collaborates in the company in tasks of helps the investigation. ”
What kind of controls and protocols does @sanidadgob have for convicted feminicides like Diego Yllanes Vizcay (who has not yet finished serving his sentence), to be able to practice as a psychiatrist?
This is very serious! #AlertaFeminista
Diego Yllanes murdered and dismembered Nagore Laffage, although she told him NO.
Today is on the payroll at the clinic of the cynical doctor
Yllanes strangled the girl in an apartment in the neighborhood of Iturrama in Pamplona, cut off a finger to make identification difficult and buried the body among plastics in the Orondritz area. Even so, the corpse was discovered that same day by several neighbors of the valley, who were walking in the area.
Hours after the murder, Yllanes was arrested by the Provincial Police, and I have acknowledged the responsibility of the crime before the investigating judge number 2 of Aoiz. The judge decided to send him to prison to avoid “a risk of high flight”.
The investigations of the Foral Police determined that there was no relationship between Laffage and José Diego Yllanes before July 7, 2008.
In fact, the police placed the same July 7, 2008 the first contact between the two, in the street Pedro I of Iruña, where Yllanes spoke with three friends of the victim. The regional agents obtained images of the two young people going to the floor of Sancho Ramírez, as well as Yllanes, at 11:00 am, at the University Clinic and nearby streets.
The murderer of Laffage apologized to the family and declared that he did not want to do it “but I killed her”. According to his story, of more than three hours, Yllanes remembers being on top of the victim “squeezing his neck”. “I assume there is a result and that I am going to pay for it,” he said.
“Forgive Nagore, forgive your family, forgive my family and society, I have offended myself, because I had prepared myself to help people, I apologize and I put myself in their hands (of the popular jury) and feet of the Nagore family , “I have declared in the final statement.
For his part, Laffage’s mother, Asun Casasola, said on Radio Euskadi that “nobody believes the forgiveness” of Yllanes. “I have done it with the intention of achieving a reduction in the penalty.”
Diego Yllanes was sentenced in 2009 to 12 and a half years in prison for the crime of homicide.
The Supreme confirms it, another blow for the family
Later, in 2010, the Supreme Court ratified the sentence and dismissed the appeals to be considered murder, instead of homicide. Thus, it contemplated two extenuating circumstances, that of reparation of the damage, since Yllanes delivered to Laffage’s family 126,853 euros, and that of slight drunkenness, while refused to apply those of rapture and confession of the crime, as requested by the defense of the psychiatrist.
In spite of the requests of all the indicted accusations (the one that represents the family of Nagore and other four popular ones) the TSJN rejected to declare the facts like murder although it counted on a particular vote that indicated that the treachery had to be considered and to describe the facts of murder, a circumstance that the Supreme Court dismissed.
In 2014, it was learned that the convicted murderer was already enjoying some permits, despite having fulfilled three quarters of his sentence, by denying the Spanish Government the pardon he had requested.
